I have attended school at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS for the two years and have had the privilege to volunteer at the LOU Clubhouse. I enjoy continuing to get to know all of the kids and love watching them succeed. I know I have touched the lives of at least a few girls at the club. A young girl came up to me one week when I was tutoring to tell me she still had the picture I autographed for her over a year ago on her mirror and she looks at it every day.
I was honored to know that picture meant so much to this young girl. She reminded me how simple things like autographing a picture and writing an inspiring message can truly change someone's life. My goal is to present the image of a positive role model to the kids so they have an example of how to act. Every child needs someone to look up to and if I can be that role model in the someone's life, even for just one child, I have succeeded.
